It is important to us that you and your child feel happy, confident and safe when you join our school family at the Sacred Heart.
With this in mind, we have developed a robust induction programme for our new Early Years Foundation Stage children. It is designed to ensure that both children and parents are familiar with the school and the staff before you begin your journey. Making certain that when your child joins our school family they are able to settle quickly and feel happy in their new environment.
Details of our Induction Programme
During the summer term there are various stages to the induction process that take place.
- Parents are invited to attend an induction meeting at school to meet the EYFS staff.
- Children attend transition sessions. The dates are communicated with you after you accept your child’s place at the Sacred Heart.
- We will request that you complete a form prior to the induction meeting. This will provide us with information that will assist the staff in getting to know your child better.
- The children attend two half day sessions at the beginning of the academic year to introduce them to school life. Then, they will attend full time the following week. Please do contact the school should you have any questions or concerns at this stage.
